Tech Alliance has partnered with Treehouse and TAO to prepare and assist the upcoming designer and developer workforce to meet the huge demand of software development jobs that are being created. Treehouse will provide training in popular programming languages for mobile applications (iOS and Android), web applications (HTML, CSS, Javascript), content management (WordPress), and back-end services (Python, PHP, Ruby) and more. Top students will work with WorkSource for career services, mentoring, and additional training needed to land a job in the tech industry.

In addiCode Oregontion, a 2014 Jobs Fair will be held on November 18th in Portland, where many Oregon tech companies will interview qualified students for internships, mentoring, and junior developer positions.

“Initiatives like Code Oregon help people find high-paying, rewarding jobs more quickly,” said Ryan Carson, co-founder and CEO of Treehouse. “We want to start the Code-to-Work movement, which will take someone from no experience, to job-ready, to a rewarding career – all without a degree and zero experience. The rules are all changing. You just don’t need a Computer Science degree any more to get an amazing job in the tech industry.”
