The Venture Out Festival is accepting applications from outdoor startups through the end of this month. So if you’re looking for cash prizes, investment or simply a chance to get the word out to an enthusiastic crowd of outdoorsy people, then you best apply. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 18.

More than 400 people attended last year’s inaugural Venture Out Festival, which is the first and only venture event focused solely on outdoor companies. SnoPlanks won the $100,000 Ready to Roll Investment Award, presented by Trigen Investments, and Tougher won the $10,000 BreakOut Award, presented by BendBroadBand and Hydroflask. CushCore also won the surprise Judge’s Award of $3,000.

The folks from Bend Outdoor Worx put together an awesome evening of startups pitches startups, inspirational keynotes and general fun on stage with emcees Katy Bryce and Chris Kratsch, of The Robert Axle Project.

The Venture Out Conference is part of a jam-packed week of fun that kicks off with the unConference on Tuesday, Oct. 18 (which will also have cash prizes) and wraps up with the Bend Venture Conference, Thursday through Friday. It’s a fantastic week to be an entrepreneur or part of the startup community.

If Venture Out is a good fit for your startup, apply to be one the pitching companies here. You have until Aug. 31.
