Gov. John Kitzhaber stopped by Onboard Dynamics during his visit to Central Oregon Tuesday. The Bend startup showed Kitzhaber its natural gas compression technology, which makes it possible to fuel vehicles from a business- or home-based natural gas line.

Onboard Dynamics CEO Rita Hansen says they discussed the startup’s history and CTO Chris Hagen’s Energy Systems Engineering program at OSU-Cascades with the governor.

“He asked a lot of good questions about the commercialization process, the technology and the benefits of using natural gas as a transportation fuel,” Hansen says.

Onboard Dynamics is currently determining how to best bring their technology to market. They want to have a commercial product ready to go in 18 months. AND they’re hiring. Job posting to follow.
