The Technology Association of Oregon has whipped up a fun little event that everyone should go to on Aug. 17. Side note: It’s right before the end of times — also known as the eclipse — and it might be the last time you can get out of your house for days. Anyways, Ignite: TAO is a fun-filled evening featuring 11 speakers, each with five minutes to give a talk on a tech-related topic.
The Outdoor Retailer Summer Market kicks off today in SLC and there’s a slew of Bend outdoor companies exhibiting, as well as many more attending the show. EDCO has also sent a team (they do every year) to let people know that Central Oregon is great place to start and grow outdoor companies.

Ignite TAO: Bend, a high-energy evening of 5-minute tech-related talks by locals, is currently accepting proposals from speakers. The event, scheduled for Thursday, August 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., will feature fun presentations on all things tech-related, including new products, services, research or just generally interesting ideas.
Remember when we reported that new Bend startup Tribe Pilot had been selected as one of three early stage companies to pitch at the OUTFOUND festival in Hood River last weekend? They won. Matt Smith, the company’s founder, snagged the popular vote for his early-stage startup, a social app that helps plan group adventures.
